Since I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist I have mostly been practising within the NHS. This is with the exception of a 6-month period of travelling throughout India and Nepal. The purpose of this trip was to learn and experience the roots of mindfulness practises within various wisdom traditions.
After graduating from the University of Oxford as a student, I was asked by the director of the programme to assist the tutor team in training students within the first term of the next cohort. This included demonstrating mindfulness/ meditation teaching competencies to students and providing feedback on students’ mindfulness/ meditation teaching skills. Since qualifying as a Mindfulness/ Meditation Teacher, I have also led mindfulness courses to a variety of groups.
I was employed as an Assistant Psychologist to jointly assess young people for autism, ADHD and learning disabilities within the NHS.
I worked within two roles on an acute psychiatric ward within the NHS. I was responsible for co-facilitating a weekly psychotherapy group for clients who experience symptoms of psychosis.
